Job summary

Nottingham City Council is recruiting a Call Handler to be the first point of contact for the Children's Front Door. This hybrid, full-time role (37 hours per week) involves receiving, recording and triaging contacts, safeguarding concerns and requests for support relating to children and young people.

You will gather information, assess urgency, escalate where required and work with partners to ensure timely, appropriate responses.

Qualifications

• First point of contact for the Children's Front Door; receive, manage and accurately record contacts, requests for support and safeguarding concerns relating to children and young people.
• Gather relevant information, assess urgency and ensure that contacts are progressed promptly and appropriately in accordance with statutory guidance, local procedures and safeguarding responsibilities.
• Provide a professional, sensitive and responsive service to practitioners, partner agencies, children, young people and families, ensuring effective communication, accurate record-keeping and timely escalation of concerns where necessary.
• Contribute to safeguarding and wellbeing of children and young people; ensure they receive the right support at the right time.
