Job summary

Randstad CPE seeks an experienced calibration and inspection leader to own operations and drive accreditation growth. You will act as the technical authority for the assigned discipline, keeping testing equipment accurate and compliant with ISO 17020/17025, and leading external audits.

You will authorise signatory competence, develop calibration methods, and build Excel-based tools. The role requires 5+ years in testing environments and strong auditing skills.

Qualifications

• 5+ years experience in a recognised inspection or testing environment.
• Strong understanding of ISO 17020 and ISO 9001; UKAS laboratory management experience is a plus.
• Relevant technical qualification; IOSH Managing Safely and Laboratory Internal Auditor certifications preferred.
• Advanced Excel skills for building math/calculation models, PAT testing experience, and internal auditing skills.
• Attention to detail, uncompromising integrity, and a continuous improvement mindset.

Responsibilities

• Maintain, calibrate, and validate test equipment while ensuring all work meets ISO 17020/17025 standards.
• Lead UKAS accreditation activities and external audits with the Quality Manager.
• Authorize signatory competence, write calibration methods, and build calculation tools (Excel).
• Identify gaps, build new internal testing capabilities, and deliver quarterly growth reports.
• Manage lab safety risk assessments, equipment traceability, non-conformance investigations, and environmental monitoring.

We are seeking an experienced candidate to take ownership of our calibration and inspection operations.

In this role, you will be the technical authority for your assigned discipline, keeping our testing equipment running accurately, driving UKAS accreditation growth, leading external audits (ISO 17020 / ISO 9001), and developing new lab capabilities.

What Youll Do

• Ensure Technical Excellence: Maintain, calibrate, and validate test equipment while ensuring all work meets ISO 17020 and ISO 17025 standards.
• Lead Accreditation and Audits: Serve as the technical lead for UKAS and external audits, working closely with the Quality Manager.
• Develop and Train: Authorise signatory competence for staff, write and validate new calibration methods, and build operational calculation tools (Excel).
• Drive Capability: Identify gaps, build new internal testing capabilities, and deliver quarterly growth reports.
• Maintain Quality and Safety: Manage lab safety risk assessments, equipment traceability, non:conformance investigations, and environmental monitoring.

What Were Looking For

• Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of ISO 17020 and ISO 9001 standards; UKAS laboratory management experience is a plus.
