Job summary

Southampton City Council is seeking a Visitor Experience Assistant (Catering) to support our cafés and hospitality spaces across the Museums, Art Gallery and Heritage Services venues. You’ll deliver customer service, prepare and serve food and drinks, handle tills and payments, and help with stock, hygiene and front-of-house operations.

We offer a pro rata salary of £26,402–£28,207 per year, generous holiday and flexible working options as part of a welcoming, community-focused team.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service in cafés and hospitality spaces.
• Prepare and serve food and drinks and take payments.
• Assist with stock control and waste reduction.
• Keep cafe and kitchen areas clean and well presented.
• Follow food hygiene and health and safety requirements.
• Assist with hospitality, venue hire and front of house activities.
