Job summary

Kauai, part of Virgin Active, is seeking a Duty Manager to lead the café day to day, ensuring food quality, service excellence and compliance with brand standards within our Greater London club. You will recruit and coach a high-performing team, manage rotas and payroll, drive labour planning and stock control, and maintain food safety and hygiene.

Qualifications

• Food Allergy and Intolerance training.
• Experience in food service, hospitality or retail management.
• Proven ability to lead, coach and develop teams.
• Strong operational and commercial awareness.
• Excellent communication and problem solving skills.
• Flexible hours including early mornings, evenings, weekends and bank holidays.

Responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day cafe operations ensuring service quality and brand compliance.
• Recruit, coach and develop a high performing team.
• Manage rotas, payroll, recruitment, onboarding and performance.
• Drive labour planning and stock control to meet costs.
• Oversee ordering, deliveries, inventory and supplier relations.
• Champion food safety, allergen management, hygiene and compliance.
• Handle escalated queries professionally and use feedback to improve service.
• Maintain presentation standards and welcoming cafe environment.
• Collaborate with Virgin Active club management to ensure seamless member experience.
