Job summary

North Star Shipping is seeking a Cadet, Training & Competence Coordinator to join our Learning & Development team. You will help develop future maritime professionals and ensure workforce readiness across our fleet, coordinating training and competence frameworks.

You’ll work across fleet and shore operations with a range of stakeholders to support cadet progression and career pathways, contributing to North Star’s ongoing manpower capability and safety excellence.

Qualifications

• From Learning & Development, HR, crewing, training coordination or workforce development backgrounds.
• Passionate about developing people and supporting career pathways.
• Highly organised, proactive and detail oriented.
• Skilled at building relationships with diverse stakeholders.
• Comfortable managing training, competence or compliance records.
• Motivated by helping others learn, grow and succeed.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate learning and development activities.
• Support cadet and trainee progression.
• Help maintain the training and competence frameworks that underpin workforce readiness across North Star.
• Working across fleet and shore operations, collaborate with a wide range of stakeholders and contribute to future capability of the business.
