WSP is seeking a Cable Systems Engineer to deliver HV and EHV cable systems for Scotland's energy projects, working from Glasgow, Edinburgh or Perth. You will join a growing team that combines local knowledge with WSP's UK and global Energy expertise.

The role involves design, studies, and documentation for transmission, renewable connections and interconnectors, with opportunities for technical leadership and professional growth.

Qualifications

• Degree qualified in Electrical or Power Engineering or related field.
• Experience designing HV and EHV cable systems across HVAC/HVDC projects.
• Knowledge of cable system design, ampacity, rating studies and installation methods.
• Experience with transmission and distribution projects and renewables is desirable.
• Familiarity with IEC standards, CIGRE guidance and related specs.

Responsabilités

• Design and develop HV/HVDC cable systems for power transmission and distribution projects.
• Conduct cable studies and thermal analyses using CYMCAP and other tools.
• Produce engineering deliverables, calculations, specs, and design documentation.
• Support HVAC/HVDC solutions for onshore, offshore and interconnector projects.
• Collaborate with PMs, constructors, and clients to deliver cable system projects.
• Review design changes and provide technical support through installation and commissioning.
• Participate in design reviews and QA processes to uphold high engineering standards.
• Stay updated on emerging cable technologies and best practices.
