Job summary

WSP is seeking a Cable Systems Engineer to deliver HV and EHV cable systems across transmission, distribution and renewable energy projects in Ireland and the UK. You will join a growing team that combines local knowledge with WSP's global expertise in energy networks.

Based in Ireland/UK with occasional travel, you will influence design, participate in reviews, and help grow a long-term cable engineering capability in the region. A Chartered Engineer status or progression toward it is preferred.

Qualifications

• Degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Engineering or related discipline.
• Strong technical understanding of cable system design, ampacity and rating studies, thermal assessments.
• Experience with HV and EHV cable systems and HVDC exposure is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop HV and EHV cable systems for power transmission and distribution projects.
• Conduct cable system studies, including ampacity, ratings and thermal analyses.
• Produce engineering deliverables, specifications and design documentation for project delivery.
• Support HVAC and HVDC cable solutions for onshore, offshore and interconnector projects.
