EMW in Yeovilton, UK, is seeking an MPS Technician to manage VMware vCenter/ESXi, Windows Server environments, and adjacent IT infrastructure. The role requires active NATO COSMIC TOP SECRET clearance and hands-on administration across AD, DNS, DHCP, servers, and security tooling.

You will support a small IT team, work 0830–1700 Mon–Thu and 0830–1500 Fri, and contribute to VDI maintenance, backups, and system documentation. Prior fast-paced environment experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Active NATO COSMIC TOP SECRET clearance is required.
• 5 years IT experience or equivalent with IT System Administration focus.
• Extensive Windows Server Administration experience.
• Intermediate network maintenance and configuration experience.
• Advanced Workstation System Administration experience.
• Significant IT Service Desk Support experience.

Responsabilités

Duties & Role:

Under the direction of CSE Yeovilton Head the incumbent will perform duties such as the following:

• Manage multiple VMware vCenter & ESXi servers
• Manage Windows Servers, AD, DNS, DHCP
• Basic maintenance of Switches and Firewalls
• Maintain Infodas SGWX diode
• Maintain GPS Time Server
• Install and maintain multiple server and client software applications
• Maintain Bespoke Server application TEPA and its database
• Maintain Softtros LanManager messaging
• Renewing certificates
• Managing VIASAT encrypted drives
• Loading Keymat to TCE621M devices
• Escorting and assisting 3rd level engineers
• Assist with testing and verification of new systems
• Assist with VEEAM Backup
• Supporting local ServiceDesk
• Maintaining documentation on assigned systems
• Support to VDI maintenance, and thin clients
• Print server support.
• Assist with EPO DLP
• Install Sharepoint and SQL server patches.
• Performs other duties as may be required.

Specific Working Conditions: The site is small and you will work with 4 other IT staff. Usual working hours: 0830 - 1700hrs Mon - Thurs; 0830 -1500hrs Fri with 30 minute lunchbreak (negotiable). 38hr working week with some flexibility on start and finish times.

Skill, Knowledge & Experience:

• The candidate must have a currently active NATO COSMIC TOP SECRET security clearance
• Vocational training at middle level in a relevant discipline, or equivalent, or Diploma of secondary education in IT System Administration with 5 years of experience.
• Extensive Windows Server Administration experience
• Intermediate Network maintenance and configuration experience
• Advanced Workstation System Administration experience
• Significant IT Service Desk Support experience
• Experience working on multiple IT systems simultaneously in a fast moving dynamic environment, while being able to react quickly to user needs.

Desired Skills:

• Knowledge of NATO IT Security Policies, Directives & Guidance
• Prior experience of working in an international environment comprising both military and civilian elements
• Knowledge of NATO responsibilities and organization.
• ITIL v3 Foundation
