Job summary

GRW Talent’s client is seeking a Software Development Engineer to design, develop, test and maintain system software for spectroscopy products based in Livingston with hybrid working.

You will work under the Software Team Leader, requiring C# (WPF), strong OO design and UI skills, and experience with source code management and bug tracking tools. The role includes on-site 3 days a week and remote 2 days, with a 37.5-hour flexible pattern and a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

• Degree in software engineering or related discipline with software development experience.
• Microsoft Windows programming experience – C# (WPF).
• Understanding of object-oriented design methods and patterns and UI design skills.

Responsibilities

• Gather requirements, design, code, test and maintain system software for Company products.
• Liaise with and support Software Testing using defect tracking system.
• Produce manuals and support documentation for system software.
• Maintain records and safeguard all system software.
• Ensure activities comply with quality procedures.
• Propose and demonstrate solutions in R&D context.
• Provide support to Production and Sales teams as required.
• Keep abreast of current technology and advise on performance impacts.
• Undertake off-site visits or remote installation/maintenance as needed.
