Job summary

erg group is seeking a C# Software Engineer to develop advanced CAD/CAM software with a focus on computational geometry and optimisation. The role is based in Nottingham with a hybrid arrangement offering three days remote work each week.

You will work on algorithmic geometry, 3D visualization and performance-critical code, collaborating with engineers across disciplines to deliver real-world manufacturing solutions.

Qualifications

• 3+ years commercial C# / .NET experience.
• Strong algorithmic and mathematical problem-solving ability.
• Backend software engineering — object-oriented design, clean code.
• Comfortable working within Agile teams.

Responsibilities

• Develop optimisation algorithms that reduce material waste in fabrication processes.
• Build and extend computational geometry engines from first principles.
• Create software for robotic weld path generation.
• Extend a large-scale commercial CAD/CAM platform with new engineering capabilities.
• Collaborate with technical specialists across multiple engineering disciplines.
