Job summary

Wallace Hind Selection LTD is recruiting a Buyer for a manufacturing site in Oakham, Rutland. You will support our procurement team across raw materials, consumables, parts and components, and help drive cost reductions and supplier lead times.

This role offers genuine career development into a more senior buying position, with a 37.5 hour week, pension, and training opportunities to support your development.

Qualifications

• Solid procurement exposure from a manufacturing or production environment.
• Experience of stock control and supplier management, cost reduction and improving lead times.
• Competent with ERP systems and good Excel skills.
• Experienced with CAD drawings (Schematics) / Bill of Materials (BOMs).

Responsibilities

• Drive down procurement costs and improve supplier lead times.
• Ensure materials and components are ordered in a timely manner with transparent lead times.
• Raise, chase and close off POs.
• Find the balance between minimum and maximum stock levels.
• Support the existing Buying team.
