Job summary

Brooklyn Recruitment is seeking a Buyer for a Cannock-based manufacturing site. You will establish relationships with suppliers, negotiate costs and freight, maintain safety stock, and support LEAN initiatives to drive on-time delivery and cost savings.

Joining a 6-strong procurement team, you’ll work in a friendly environment with a strong focus on development, training, and progression, and you’ll be rewarded with a competitive salary and benefits including pension and health cover.

Qualifications

• Experience in purchasing within a manufacturing environment.
• Ability to negotiate with suppliers and manage cost reduction.
• Experience supporting LEAN manufacturing initiatives.
• Strong supplier relationship management and communication.

Responsibilities

• Establish relationships with and negotiate with suppliers.
• Negotiate freight costs and ensure on-time delivery.
• Adhere to all buying procedures and maintain safety stock levels.
• Work with LEAN initiatives and escalate supplier quality issues as needed.
• Ensure payment terms align with company standards and negotiate quotes.
• Produce supplier reports and manage supplier categorization.
• Other duties as required.
