Job summary

Cedar in Wallingford is seeking an experienced Buyer to join a fast-growing technology and manufacturing business. You will manage day-to-day purchasing, ensuring materials, components and outsourced assemblies are available to support production.

You will work with suppliers and internal teams to manage orders, delivery schedules, and supplier performance while driving cost and efficiency improvements. The role offers £50,000 per annum plus benefits including equity, pension and life insurance,

Qualifications

• 2–3 years' experience in purchasing, procurement or supply chain.
• Experience in manufacturing/electronics.
• Experience purchasing direct materials and managing suppliers.
• Knowledge of outsourced manufacturing and Incoterms advantageous.
• Strong communication, organisation and problem-solving skills.
• Proactive, hands-on approach with ability to work at pace.

Responsibilities

• Manage purchase orders for materials, components and outsourced assemblies.
• Liaise with suppliers on orders, delivery dates and shipments.
• Expedite or defer orders based on production requirements.
• Monitor supplier performance and resolve supply issues.
• Work closely with Planning, Production and Warehouse teams.

The Role

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Buyer to join a fast-growing technology and manufacturing business.

You will be responsible for day-to-day purchasing activity, ensuring materials, components and outsourced assemblies are available to support production. Working closely with suppliers and internal teams, you will manage orders, delivery schedules, supplier performance and supply issues while supporting cost and efficiency improvements.

About You

• 2 - 3 years' experience in purchasing, procurement or supply chain.
• Previous experience within a manufacturing/electronics organisation.
• Experience purchasing direct materials and managing suppliers.
• Knowledge of outsourced manufacturing, Incoterms and international purchasing is advantageous.
• Strong communication, organisation and problem-solving skills.
• Proactive, hands-on approach with the ability to work at pace.
