About the role

We are seeking experienced Butchers to manage our Butchery Departments as if they were their own business. This exciting role involves working with customers to develop their business, understanding your local market, and providing excellent service.

This position offers the flexibility to run a butchery business without financial risk. We are looking for someone with good product knowledge of all meat proteins, who is self-motivated and eager to succeed.

You will be responsible for

• Maintaining high standards in all areas, including stock management, food safety procedures (including record-keeping), displays of fresh and pre-packed meats, staff morale, and customer satisfaction.
• Working with the Store Manager to develop a business plan to support sales growth and profitability.
• Greeting and engaging with customers, providing advice, answering questions, accepting orders, and offering helpful service with a smile.
• Ordering and managing stock, including stocktaking.
• Effectively leading and managing a small team, including staff scheduling.
• Cutting meat to order.
• Cleaning and maintaining tools and equipment.
• Coordinating deliveries or order pickups.
• Controlling waste.
