Job description

My client is a leading supplier of professional coating products and services, seeking an experienced Business Development Manager (BDM) to cover the Sussex Region.

You will be a successful new business sales professional with a true hunter approach, ideally with coating industry experience (Automotive Refinishing, Industrial, Wood Coatings, Light Industrial, Refinishing industry).

This is a remote opportunity, with trips to the Head Office near Portsmouth when required.

Salary: £44,000 to £50,000 + DOE + OTE £80,000+ (uncapped).

Role Responsibilities
  1. Identify new business opportunities, including new markets, growth areas, trends, customers, products, and services.
  2. Establish new business through an active sales pipeline process, recorded in SharePoint.
  3. Implement new business in line with business group strategy.
  4. Seek out the appropriate contacts within organizations.
  5. Meet with customers/clients face-to-face, over the phone, or via video call.
  6. Record all visits using the current reporting software.
  7. Develop and maintain strong business relationships both internally and externally.
  8. Identify key development areas from customer and portfolio perspectives.
  9. Maintain a customer database for mailshot campaigns via head office.
  10. Capture and feedback competitor and market information.
  11. Handover new accounts to the region after a 3-month initial account development period.
