You will own the slicing technologies portfolio, craft sales strategies, grow market share across the UK, and drive profitability through close collaboration with sales teams and international partners.

The role requires a technical background with strong commercial acumen, travel 2-3 nights per week, and experience in food processing equipment.

Qualifications

• Experience with food processing machinery or capital equipment used in the food industry.
• Technical background with strong commercial awareness is required.
• Previous roles as Product Manager, Technical Sales or Applications Engineer are ideal evidence.

Responsibilities

• Drive sales and gross margin growth across the UK.

• Provide specialist technical support to sales teams and customers.

A leading manufacturer of food processing and packaging machinery is looking for a commercially driven, technically minded Business Development Managerto lead its Slicing Technologies portfolio across the UK and Germany.

The Role

You'll take ownership of the slicing product range, developing sales strategies, growing market share and maximising profitability. Working closely with sales teams, customers and international OEM partners, you'll turn technical expertise into commercial success.

Key responsibilities include:

• Drive sales, business development and gross margin growth across the UK.
• Develop product strategies, pricing, market intelligence and competitor analysis.
• Provide specialist technical and application support to sales teams and customers.
• Lead product launches, customer trials, FATs, exhibitions and product training.
• Develop tailored solutions, demonstrating customer ROI, yield improvements and reduced giveaway.
• Build strong relationships with customers, internal teams and international manufacturing partners.

Requirements:

• Experience with food processing machinery, industrial slicing technology, inspection machinery, weighing equipment or capital equipmentgoing into the food industry would be ideal!
• Will have a technical background with strong commercial awareness.
• Will have held a Product Manager, Technical Sales or Applications Engineer position previously.
• Must be flexible with travel and nights away from home (2-3 nights a week).
