Job Title: Business Development Manager - Event Organiser

Salary: Up to £38,000 per annum plus bonus

Location: Rugby - Office based

Job Type: Full-time (9-5)

Our client is a leading provider of high-quality B2B industry-specific networking and meeting events, connecting buyers and suppliers across various sectors, including Facilities Management, Architecture & Design, Catering, and Project Development. Since 2012, they have been helping senior executives build valuable business relationships and achieve their strategic objectives by matching the right suppliers with active buyers. As the company continues to grow, our client is seeking a dynamic, results-driven Business Development Manager.

Role Overview

This is an exciting opportunity for a passionate Business Development Manager to play a key role in driving business growth. You will manage inbound and outbound sales inquiries, build strong client relationships, and deliver tailored event solutions. The role requires excellent communication skills and a customer-centric approach. If you're eager to work in the events sector and thrive in a results-driven environment, this is the role for you.

Key Responsibilities

  • Convert inbound and outbound sales inquiries into confirmed sales, ensuring high levels of client satisfaction.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with both new and existing clients.
  • Utilise CRM (Salesforce) to track sales progress, update customer records, and manage leads.
  • Develop and execute effective sales strategies to meet and exceed revenue targets.
  • Understand client needs and provide tailored event solutions to meet their business objectives.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure smooth event execution and customer satisfaction.
  • Prepare and present sales proposals and presentations to potential clients.
  • Identify new business opportunities and proactively generate leads.
  • Stay informed about industry trends and competitor activities to maintain a competitive edge.
  • Contribute ideas to enhance the performance of the sales team.
  • Attend Events (3 days/2 nights), including event setup and breakdown.
  • Participate in industry shows and client visits to drive new business.

Key Skills & Experience

  • Proven sales experience in a B2B sales environment, ideally within the events, facilities, projects, commercial design, or catering sectors.
  • Strong account management skills and the ability to nurture client relationships.
  • Experience using CRM systems (Salesforce preferred) to manage sales pipelines and reporting.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and organisational skills.
  • A proactive, results-driven approach to sales.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
