Job summary

West One Loans is seeking an experienced Business Development Manager to own and drive lending opportunities across the Central & North London region and neighboring counties. You will engage mortgage intermediaries and direct borrowers, managing a productive diary focused on face-to-face appointments.

The role requires strong negotiation, deep product knowledge, and the ability to train partners on our lending criteria and broker portal. Travel to Watford head office will be required as needed.

Qualifications

• Experience in a sales environment with a track record of success.

Responsibilities

• Generate and develop new lending opportunities in Central & North London and surrounding counties.
• Originate and manage relationships with mortgage intermediaries, introducers, and direct borrowers in your region.
• Maintain a strong sales pipeline for bridging finance and meet targets.
• Collaborate with Head of Sales to manage your diary with face-to-face appointments.
• Respond to new business inquiries via phone and email and log in CRM with high service levels.
• Understand products, criteria and lending policy to train intermediaries.

Key Accountabilities

• To manage, generate and develop new lending opportunities in the Central & North London, Hertfordshire, Bedfordshire, Buckinghamshire and Cambridgeshire area

• Originate, manage and develop relationships with mortgage intermediaries, professional introducers and direct borrowers within your given region.

• Manage deal flow to maintain a strong sales pipeline across bridging finance in order to meet and exceed agreed targets.

• Work collaboratively with the Head of Sales and internal sales team to book and manage your own diary with a primary focus on face-to-face appointments.

• Use phone and email to effectively respond to new business enquiries and record these appropriately on our CRM system, whilst providing an exceptional level of service to our broker partners.

• Develop an in-depth understanding of our products, criteria and lending policy in order to deal with new business enquiries effectively and provide suitable training to intermediary partners.

• Develop an understanding of how to use our broker portal in order to provide suitable training to intermediary partners.

• Complying with West One Loans, TCF and Responsible Lending policies.

• Attendance at industry roadshows and events, when required.

• Attendance at Watford head office, when required.

• Keep abreast of competitor product offering and market conditions to enable feedback internally for further product developments.

Knowledge & Qualifications

• Understanding of Treating Customers Fairly, Money Laundering, Data Protection, Responsible Lending, FCA & PRA regulation

• A strong knowledge of bridging finance.

• Experience in wider specialist finance market would be beneficial
