This is a highly visible position within the business and as such demands an individual capable of exceeding targets and consistently delivering excellent sales figures month on month.

You will be responsible for the business development of vehicle fleets (from 100 to 999) across the UK in the corporate, not-for-profit, and public sector markets. Key responsibilities include achieving sales objectives while managing the needs and expectations of prospects.

To secure new business from the target audience, including fleet management, contract hire, short-term rental management, salary sacrifice, and other products offered by the business, now or in the future.

Key responsibilities

  • Achieve sales targets for new clients and units ordered
  • Identify and propose solutions to sell the company's product portfolio into new business opportunities
  • Tailor solutions to meet customer needs; propose to the Head of New Business and Senior Management to ensure appropriate business returns
  • Ensure solutions are deliverable, supported by approved profit models, and demonstrate sustainable profitability
  • Utilise and promote sales initiatives and campaigns to exceed targets
  • Re-engage previous customers by understanding reasons for leaving and addressing concerns to encourage return
  • Utilise Salesforce to record all sales activities thoroughly
  • Identify internal relationships and leverage their expertise as needed
  • Engage support functions to generate support within your business area
  • Provide policy advice and support to prospects and peers
  • Build relationships with prospects, understand decision-making processes
  • Develop relationships with manufacturer contacts and engage in networking opportunities
  • Achieve minimum prospecting activity levels, secure appointments, and report outcomes monthly
  • Manage marketing campaigns, mailing initiatives, and telephone canvassing to maximize appointments and conversions
  • Deliver activities to meet volume, profit, fleet management, daily rental, and other profit targets
  • Understand the product portfolio and industry context; share knowledge with colleagues
  • Develop a business plan for your role and targets
  • Prepare activity reports as required
  • Attend sales meetings as needed
  • Build strong internal relationships and reinforce company culture and values
  • Ensure professional handover of accounts to Project Management and Strategic Account Managers
