Business Development Manager | Permanent | Newcastle | £60K base + uncapped OTE
We're looking for an experienced sales, business developer and hunter to join our expanding Energy Management consultancy client.
You’ll be one of the senior members of the commercial team, acting as a player-manager, winning new business and have a real impact on their next phase of growth.
You do not have to be from the energy/sustainability market, but we’re interested in speaking to someone who understands sales cycles, knows how to pitch consultancy services and wants to be a leader in a growing business.
You’ll be responsible for identifying target businesses, opening conversations with senior decision-makers, developing relationships and taking opportunities through the full sales cycle.
The company works with medium to large organisations, helping them address challenges around energy, carbon, sustainability and Net Zero.
This isn’t a quick transactional sale - the sales cycles are typically more consultative and relationship-led, so you’ll need to be comfortable developing an opportunity over time and navigating multiple stakeholders.
You’ll have plenty of autonomy to build your own pipeline, develop outbound campaigns and figure out the best way to get in front of the right people.
The most important thing is strong B2B new-business experience.
They want someone who is commercially hungry, proactive and comfortable picking up the phone, creating opportunities and working towards numbers.
You don’t necessarily need to have sold Energy & Sustainability services before. However, experience across areas such as the following would be interesting:
If you’re an ambitious B2B salesperson who enjoys hunting for new business, building relationships and closing complex deals, this could be a really interesting move.
I’d be particularly keen to speak to people already selling into Energy, Sustainability, Carbon, Energy Management or B2B SaaS, but the sector background isn’t a deal-breaker if you’ve got the right sales mentality.
