Job Description:

Dawsongroup Energy Solutions is an emerging and innovative business unit within Dawsongroup plc, specialising in low carbon & renewable energy solutions for clients across the public & private sectors. We are experts in supporting clients to achieve their energy management, sustainability, decarbonisation, and net zero ambitions.

We are currently looking for a Business Development Manager to secure new contracts with clients, focusing on energy solutions for their benefits.

The ideal candidate will have a background in the energy sector, specifically in Sales, with Renewables or Generator experience. Areas of expertise that would be advantageous include Solar, Battery energy storage, EV Charging and Infrastructure, CHP, Onshore Wind, Heat Pumps, District Heating, etc.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Identifying and engaging with potential and existing clients through networking, cold calling, and targeted outreach.
  • Developing and nurturing relationships with key decision-makers in potential client organisations.
  • Leading negotiations with clients to secure new contracts, ensuring favourable terms for both parties.
  • Building new and maintaining existing customer relationships.
  • Acting as the primary contact for clients, addressing their needs and concerns promptly.

Knowledge & Experience:

  • Full, valid UK driving licence.
  • A sales professional with a background in the energy sector – low carbon, renewable energy, and decarbonisation - preferably from an engineering/energy products background.
  • An experienced negotiator in face-to-face selling with the ability to close sales.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and a high level of personal presentation.
  • A mechanical/electrical engineering qualification would be ideal.
