On behalf of our close client, Consult are seeking a dynamic Business Development Manager to drive growth, acquire new customers and strengthen relationships across the South East region. About the Role

As a Business Development Manager, you will play a key role in identifying, qualifying and securing new business opportunities. You will work closely with prospects to understand their needs, present tailored solutions and ensure a seamless transition to our Territory Managers for ongoing account management. Alongside this, you’ll have the opportunity to mentor and guide other members of the field sales team, particularly around sales processes and strategies for high-value negotiations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Proactively identify and engage potential customers through outbound calls, social media, and email outreach.
  • Build relationships with key decision-makers, conduct needs assessments and present relevant solutions.
  • Lead high-value negotiations and drive customer acquisition by demonstrating a consultative sales approach.
  • Generate leads, nurture prospects and maintain a healthy sales pipeline.
  • Work closely with the Territory Managers to ensure smooth handovers and continued customer success.
  • Mentor and support the field sales team in developing their sales skills, particularly in closing deals and managing key accounts.
  • Contribute to the success of the organisation through generating leads, creating quotes and closing sales.
  • Drive attendance at industry events and follow up on marketing-generated leads.
  • Maintain accurate records in the CRM system and contribute to overall team success.
  • Support regional teams through training and onboarding of new employees.
  • Provide temporary territory coverage where needed (e.g., maternity leave).

What We’re Looking For:

  • A self-starter with a strong drive to succeed in sales.
  • Exceptional communication and relationship-building skills.
  • Experience in social selling and digital outreach.
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to understand sales processes, research prospects and provide tailored solutions.
  • A resilient approach to outbound calling and customer engagement.
  • A team player with a desire to mentor and support colleagues.
  • Degree-educated (preferred) with a passion for learning and growth.
  • Experience in dental or a background in MedTech / Medical Device sales, with the ability to prospect, mentor and embody a consultative sales approach is highly advantageous.
  • A proven track record of exceeding targets and closing deals.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
