About the role
About Us
Based in the heart of the South West, with the world-famous Brixham Fish Market on our doorstep, we supply chefs with the freshest, locally sourced fish and seafood available in the UK. About the Role
The Business Development Manager, working alongside in-house Account Managers, is responsible for delivering sustainable new and existing cash growth across the Bristol/Bath and South Wales region.
This role includes:

  • Developing relationships, building long-term trust and rapport with customers, offering solid solutions and ideas to their business
  • Using a variety of resources to identify opportunities, as well as strategic questioning techniques to find gaps within an existing ledger
  • Maintaining a working pipeline document detailing all prospective business, with up-to-date and relevant information
  • Providing accurate and timely information and feedback to management and other business areas to ensure continued service to our customers and to utilize growth opportunities
  • Monthly reporting on sales performance and future plans, with action plans where necessary
  • Ensuring good management practices and all processes are followed to maintain the health and safety of employees and customers

About You

From our knowledgeable fish buyers and experienced sales team to our skilled fishmongers, technical team, and delivery drivers, our staff are masters of their trade, supported by a wealth of knowledge. This enables us to ensure consistent, reliable, and professional service, building trustworthy, long-lasting relationships from the outset.
You will align with our business ethos and possess the following:

  • Passion for food, especially seafood. Hospitality industry knowledge is essential, and seafood experience would be a great advantage. Sales experience is not required.
  • Thorough knowledge and understanding of our marketplace and the food industry generally
  • A high level of professionalism while remaining personable and approachable
  • A collaborative, hands-on approach driven by excellent customer service skills
  • An analytical methodology to seek out and optimize growth opportunities
  • A current driving license and the ability to work across the region as required for our customer base—primarily Bristol, Bath, and South Wales—so must live or be within reasonable commuting distance to these areas.
