Qualifications

Our expertise spans the design, construction, and maintenance of buildings and critical infrastructure worldwide. We have an exciting new opportunity for a Business Development Director to support and grow our decarbonisation consulting business.

Our Carbon Shift consulting business focuses on delivering realisable climate action and net zero plans, supported by capabilities in heat decarbonisation, regeneration, Facilities Management, Project delivery, EVs, smart buildings, and renewables. Carbon Shift has developed strong expertise and a client base around net zero and energy transition, and is now expanding into climate adaptation and resilience solutions.

Key activities

The Business Development Director will work with the Carbon Shift MD and team to develop a sales plan targeting internal and external customers. Responsibilities include:

  • Engaging in field sales with existing customers to promote and close CS services.
  • Collaborating with account management and sales teams to promote ECS services.
  • Developing and executing external campaigns for targeted markets.
  • Leading proposals and presentations for consulting work and major contracts.
  • Liaising with consulting group leaders to develop client-specific offers.
  • Managing a sales pipeline in coordination with operational teams.
  • Presenting to management and building a network with UK and global sales professionals.
  • Transitioning delivery opportunities into the pipeline.
  • Growing revenue with existing and new customers in line with business plans.
  • Leading bid processes and ensuring effective handovers.
  • Ensuring compliance with governance processes.
  • Engaging customers throughout proposal development.
  • Providing updates to internal reporting systems like Salesforce.
  • Applying experience in sales pursuit, bid development, and marketing.
  • Networking and creating business conversations.
  • Having solid experience in business development within energy/environmental advisory services.
  • Understanding UK public and private bidding environments.
  • Holding a degree in business or a technical field.
