LOCALiQ, part of Newsquest Media Group, the UK’s leading local publisher, is on the lookout for a motivated, driven Business Development Consultant to join our team covering the Mid Wales Region.
With access to over 200 trusted news brands, an award-winning events division, and cutting-edge digital marketing solutions, LOCALiQ helps businesses connect with their audiences like never before. To support our continued growth, we’re looking for someone ready to represent our suite of digital products and our renowned title, The County Times.
This is a varied and rewarding role where you’ll be selling a suite of LOCALiQ’s digital marketing services and print advertising solutions. You’ll take a consultative approach to sales - building strong, lasting relationships with clients by understanding their needs and offering tailored solutions. You’ll manage your own territory and sales pipeline, actively identifying and reaching out to potential clients, converting new prospects, and maintaining a steady flow of business. Success in the role means meeting and exceeding set targets and KPIs, using a mix of video calls, phone outreach, and in-person meetings to build rapport and close deals. You’ll also take care of a number of key accounts, ensuring clients receive excellent service and measurable results.
What we’re looking for:
We’re looking for a confident and proactive sales professional who thrives on creating connections and securing new business. While experience in sales, media, or marketing would be ideal, we’re just as interested in your mindset, resilience, adaptability, and a genuine passion for helping clients succeed. You’ll need to be comfortable working independently across a defined region, managing your workload effectively, and spotting new opportunities along the way. If you have a background or interest in forestry, farming, or agriculture sectors, that’s a bonus but not a requirement. For this field-based role, a full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle are required.
