About The Opportunity

At Skyven Technologies, we have developed a revolutionary heat pump technology to decarbonize industrial heat and move the needle on climate change. Our technologies have the potential to eliminate on-site CO2 emissions from industrial steam. We implement this technology through an innovative Energy-as-a-Service model that provides clean process heat to industrial facilities. We identify, fund, design, build, and install our decarbonization technologies to help industrial manufacturers reach their sustainability goals, while minimizing risks and operational expenses.

About The Role

The Business Development & Technical Sales Manager will work closely with the SVP of Global Sales and Director of Marketing to drive growth of Skyven's heat-pump solutions and expand into the European market. Responsibilities include identifying new opportunities, developing customer relationships, delivering tailored decarbonization solutions, building proposals, and closing deals. This role requires technical expertise and understanding of industrial processes to connect customer challenges with innovative, value-driven solutions that foster long-term partnerships and measurable carbon reduction outcomes.

Responsibilities

  1. Strategic Planning & Business Development
  2. Develop and execute strategic plans for business growth in Europe.
  3. Identify and pursue new opportunities in targeted industrial sectors.
  4. Align strategies with energy market trends, policies, and regulations for decarbonization projects.
  5. Technical Sales & Lead Management
  6. Manage the entire sales process from origination to closure.
  7. Qualify leads, assess customer goals, and ensure solutions fit.
  8. Achieve targeted sales pursuits annually.
  9. Maintain detailed CRM records of customer interactions and sales activities.
  10. Prepare forecasts, reports, and pipeline updates for leadership.
  11. Customer Engagement & Relationship Building
  12. Present Skyven's value proposition effectively to diverse audiences.
  13. Provide product expertise and answer customer inquiries.
  14. Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with customers, vendors, and partners.
  15. Ensure successful project execution and customer satisfaction.
  16. Collaboration & Solution Design
  17. Work with Engineering to design tailored decarbonization solutions.
  18. Assess standards and develop a network of local partners.
  19. Market Research & Networking
  20. Conduct market research, identify trends, and gather competitive insights.
  21. Attend industry events to represent Skyven and build connections.
  22. Build a network within the European decarbonization community.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, or related field.
  • 5+ years in technical sales or business development in energy or industrial manufacturing sectors.
  • Strong knowledge of European energy policies, market trends, and decarbonization practices.
  • Proven success in developing strategies and meeting sales targets.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Experience with CRM software.
  • Ability to build and maintain professional relationships.
  • Analytical mindset for market research and analysis.
  • Familiarity with industrial processes and energy systems.
  • Willingness to travel domestically and internationally up to 25-50%.

Preferred

  • Master's degree in Engineering, Business, or related field.
  • Experience selling complex engineering solutions at the enterprise level.
  • Knowledge of decarbonization solutions for industrial sites.
  • Fluency in one or more European languages.
