Job summary

Hiab, part of the Cargotec group, is seeking a Business Controller for the UK market based in Ellsmere, UK. You will partner with Market Services leadership to drive monetization of installed base, improve profitability, and support capital efficiency across Services.

You'll lead margin expansion, pricing discipline, and provide financial insights for contracts, pricing, and acquisitions, while ensuring forecast accuracy and forward-looking analysis across revenue streams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Finance or related field.
• 5+ years in Business Control or Finance Business Partnering.
• Experience in services/recurring revenue preferred.
• Experience with BI tools, data analytics and automation.
• Ability to influence and communicate with senior stakeholders.

Your mission

As a Business Controller, UK you will act as a senior finance partner to (Market) Services leadership, driving installed base monetization, capture rate growth, margin expansion and capital efficiency across the Services portfolio. Therefore, the primary focus is Services performance (majority allocation), with limited Equipment financial performance (operational planning ownership remains within the Equipment organization) support and governance coordination responsibilities.

You will materially contribute to improving Services profitability, cash conversion and pricing discipline through proactive margin steering, contract performance control and cost-to-serve transparency.

This position is based in Ellsmere, UK.

Key responsibilities

• Drive installed base monetization and sustainable capture rate growth across Spare Parts, Lifecycle Services and Accessories
• Lead margin expansion initiatives and strengthen pricing discipline
• Safeguard contract profitability including revenue recognition and margin monitoring
• Support customer and dealer discussions with financial insights on profitability, pricing and contract economics where relevant.
• Optimize Net Working Capital and cost-to-serve across Services activities
• Ensure performance transparency and forward-looking analysis across recurring and non-recurring revenue streams
• Own financial steering of workshop and field service performance (utilization, absorption, standard cost rates, charge-out rates) where applicable
• Gatekeeper to Orderbook consistency and reliability
• Provide financial performance analysis and margin monitoring
• Support working capital and profitability tracking
• Contribute financial insights while operational planning ownership remains within Equipment organization
• Support budgeting and forecasting processes with focus on forecast accuracy and business relevance
• Deliver structured financial modelling and scenario analysis
• Support financial integration and performance tracking of acquired or newly integrated activities
• Support financial evaluation of acquisitions, partnerships and Hiab growth initiatives
• Provide financial modelling and scenario analysis to support investment decisions
• Provide actionable performance insights to Market leadership.

What we are looking for

• Bachelor‘s degree in Finance, Business or related filed
• Minimum 5 years’ experience in Business Control or Finance Business Partnering (high-performing internal candidates with strong track record may be considered).
• Experience in Services, aftermarket or recurring revenue business models preferred
• Exposure to industrial, heavy equipment, automotive or similar industries advantageous
• Proven track record of forward-looking financial leadership, including scenario modelling, proactive performance steering and strategic decision support.
• Demonstrated experience in digital finance environments with strong affinity for BI tools, data analytics and process automation initiatives
• Ability to influence, challenge constructively and communicate confidently with senior operational stakeholders.
