About the role

Skills for Care is the strategic workforce development and planning body for adult social care in England. We work with employers, Government and partners to ensure social care has the right people, skills and support required to deliver the highest quality care and support now and in the future.

Internally we call this role Service Designer. The above job title is being used for external advertising purposes.

We are looking for an enthusiastic and experienced change consultant with strong business analysis capability to play a key role in our organisation-wide transformation programme. The role supports a mix of organisational design, process improvement, and technology implementation across our transformation. You'll be responsible for shaping roles and responsibilities, designing new internal processes, and implementing new ways of working that align with our strategic goals and maximise our impact across the adult social care sector.

Bringing strong problem-solving skills, confident facilitation, and a structured yet flexible approach, you'll help shape how Skills for Care operates. You’ll work across teams to understand current practices, validate opportunities for improvement, and design solutions that are both practical and sustainable.

You’ll engage colleagues at all levels, bringing together insights to create integrated ways of working that really stick. You’ll also make sure new approaches are clearly documented, well-communicated, and embedded into day-to-day operations.

Drawing on your expertise in organisational design, customer-centred thinking, and process mapping, you’ll advocate for user needs and design solutions that deliver real value. You’ll proactively build relationships, lead workshops, and drive decisions that lead to meaningful change.

This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced change consultant, business process analyst or organisational service designer who thrives on solving complex problems, improving systems, and supporting effective, lasting transformation.
