Job summary

Cognizant is seeking a Public Sector Consultant/Business Analyst to analyze and clarify business problems, opportunities, or requirements for change within UK Public Sector clients. You will define requirements, document processes, model data flows and work within SAFe/Agile methods to ensure viable solutions that deliver anticipated benefits.

You will engage with client SMEs and stakeholders, challenge requirements where appropriate, and support change readiness with clear insights for people,

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years delivering for UK Public Sector clients.
• Proficiency in documenting business requirements in Agile environments.
• Experience with data flow modelling and process mapping.
• Familiar with GAP/ SWOT analysis and cost/benefit analysis.
• Strong stakeholder management in large programmes and diverse groups.
• Holds security clearance or is clearable.
• Experience in GDS Discovery, Alpha, Beta, Live phases.
• Knowledge of SAFe/ Scrum concepts.

Job description

As a Public Sector Consultant/business analyst, you will conduct effective analysis to clarify, define or evaluate business problems, opportunities or requirements for change and deliver solutions using the client’s chosen methodology (e.g. SAFe Agile). You will use your influencing, negotiation & communication skills to challenge business requirements where appropriate working closely with the client SME’s, key stakeholders and other suppliers, to ensure that solutions developed are viable within the operating environment and are focused on delivering the anticipated benefits. You will also support the effective management of change by providing clear insight into the business’ readiness for change and the impacts to people, processes and systems. A good understanding of data and the relationship with process is also required.

Required Skills:

• Experience of working in UK Public Sector clients: Minimum 3 years working within Public Sector client delivery
• Ability to use core analytical techniques including:
• Definition and documentation of business requirements in line with Agile methodology
• Business process modelling

• GAP / SWOT analysis
• Cost/benefit analysis

• Experience of data projects, transformation initiatives and large-scale IT implementation

• Strong Stakeholder Management skills – experienced working in a complex client environment, large programmes and able to develop working relationships with diverse groups of stakeholders and SME’s
• Core consulting skills – strong written and verbal communications, presentation and facilitation skills
• Strong organisational & planning skills

• Programme Management across the Client, Cognizant and 3rd Party Suppliers, Project Managers, Business analysts, Scrum Masters, Delivery project and Account Leadership
