Job summary

Ellison Institute of Technology Oxford is seeking an experienced Business Analyst to bridge business needs and technology delivery. You will work with stakeholders, development teams, and Technical Leads to define requirements, prioritise delivery, and ensure business value is realised.

The ideal candidate has extensive experience delivering projects using Agile, Hybrid, and Waterfall methodologies, with hands-on Jira and Confluence usage.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Business Analyst.
• Experience delivering projects with Agile, Hybrid and Waterfall methods.
• Proven expertise with Atlassian tools Jira and Confluence.
• Strong business process modelling, gap analysis, and traceability.

Responsibilities

Your Role:

At EIT we are seeking an experienced and detail orientated Business Analyst to bridge business needs and technology delivery. The successful candidate will work closely with stakeholders, business teams, development teams, and Technical Leads to define requirements, prioritise delivery, and ensure business value is realised.

The ideal candidate will have extensive experience delivering projects using Agile, Hybrid, and Waterfall methodologies, with strong stakeholder management skills and hand-on experience using Jira for backlog management, requirements tracking, and reporting.

Your Responsibilities:

Business Analysis

• Elicit, analyse, document, and validate business requirements.
• Facilitate workshops, interviews, and discovery sessions with stakeholders.
• Analyse current and future state processes and identify improvement opportunities.
• Support business process re-engineering initiatives.
• Ensure solutions meet business requirements and strategic objectives.
• Own and manage product backlogs.
• Work closely with the Business Stakeholders to prioritise features, user stories, and enhancements based on business value.
• Work closely with development teams to clarify requirements and acceptance criteria.
• Operate effectively within Agile, Hybrid, and Waterfall delivery environments.
• Collaborate with Delivery Leads to manage scope, risks, dependencies, and change requests.
• Ensure traceability from business requirements through to solution delivery and testing.
• Support UAT planning, execution, and sign-off.

Stakeholder Management

• Build strong relationships across business and technology functions.
• Communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels, including senior leadership.

Jira & Delivery Tooling

• Create and maintain Epics, Features, Stories, Tasks, and Defects within Jira.
• Manage and prioritise product backlogs using Jira.
• Work with Confluence to document project artefacts.

Requirements

Essential Skills, Qualifications & Experience:

• Proven experience as a Business Analyst.
• Proven experience delivering projects within Agile, Hybrid delivery approaches and Waterfall methodologies.
• Proven expertise with Atlassian tools - particularly Jira and Confluence
• Strong experience with business process modelling, gap analysis, and requirement traceability.
• Excellent communication skills (verbal, written, and presentation).
• Ability to work independently and lead requirement efforts across multiple teams.
• Experience facilitating workshops and stakeholder engagement sessions.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities with experience managing product backlogs and prioritisation.
• Experience supporting UAT and business readiness activities.

Desirable Skills, Qualifications & Experience:

• Experience working within enterprise transformation programmes
• Experience working with third-party vendors
• Data analysis and reporting experience
• Knowledge of process modelling tools such as Visio, Lucidchart etc

Working Together - What It Involves:

• You must have the right to work permanently in the UK with a willingness to travel as necessary.
• You will live in, or within easy commuting distance of, Oxford (or be willing to relocate)
• Please note this is a hybrid working position where a minimum of 3 working days is required to be worked onsite in our Oxford office each week.
