Job summary

The Cotswold Company is seeking a Business Analyst to join our Change team in Norwich on a permanent, full-time basis. You will map end-to-end processes across operational, financial and tech domains, acting as the honest broker between business, design and technical teams.

You'll run workshops, shape requirements, and define what good looks like before any code is written. Expect a mix of strategic and tactical BAU work in a fast-growing, premium British home brand.

Qualifications

• Two years' BA experience in a similar role.
• Good understanding of IT systems and the software development lifecycle.
• Experience with Jira, Confluence or Monday.com.
• Retail industry experience and Agile environment exposure.

Responsibilities

• Lead discovery workshops and translate insights into clear requirements with MoSCoW prioritisation.
• Support products across the lifecycle from idea to launch.
• Manage change process backlog and align stakeholders across initiatives.
• Champion Agile practices and help run standups, sprint planning and retros.
• Collaborate with Product Owners to build business cases and governance artifacts.
• Support rollout with maps, models, training and end-user documentation.
• Partner with QA for acceptance criteria and test plans.

The role

Our Change team sits at the centre of how the business improves. As Business Analyst you'll look at how we work end to end, operational, financial and technological, and find the better way.

You'll be the honest broker between the business, design and technical teams. You'll run the workshops, shape the requirements, and make sure everyone knows what good looks like before a line of code is written. Some of what you work on will be strategic and long-range. Some will be tactical BAU, landing this sprint. Both matter.

What you'll be doing

• Leading discovery workshops and translating what you hear into clear, tested, well-documented requirements with proper value analysis, a shared definition of success and MoSCoW prioritisation.
• Supporting products across the whole lifecycle, from first idea through to launch, technical and non-technical alike.
• Managing the flow of work through our formal change process, prioritising the backlog across strategic and tactical BAU, and keeping stakeholders moving.
• Championing Agile ways of working - Scrum and Kanban - and helping run stand-ups, sprint planning and retrospectives.
• Working with business Product Owners to build sound business cases, and keeping governance in good order: roadmaps, RAID, RACI and RFP.
• Supporting process roll-out from design through to delivery, with clear maps, models, training and end-user documentation (Confluence, Visio and the like).
• Partnering with our software QA team on acceptance criteria, user-acceptance testing and technical system test plans.
• Staying flexible when the unexpected lands - weighing up blockers and prioritising them sensibly.

What you'll bring

• Around two years' experience in a similar business analyst role.
• A good understanding of IT systems and the software development lifecycle.
• Confidence with business project tools such as Jira, Confluence or Monday.com.
• Excellent communication and organisational skills, and the ability to build strong relationships at every level.
• Strong analytical thinking and commercial awareness.
• Real attention to detail, and the resilience to manage a heavy and changing workload.
• Certified Agile Business Analyst.
• Experience writing business cases and tracking benefits.
• Retail industry experience.
• Experience working in Agile environments.
