DTCC is seeking an experienced Associate Director, Technology Business Analyst to bridge product and technology for the CMI squad. You will lead deep data analysis, define detailed requirements, and guide a team of business analysts through complex data transformations and system integrations.

The Impact You Will Have In This Role

DTCC is seeking an experienced Associate Director, Technology Business Analyst to support the Product Owner of the CMI squad. The role will serve as the primary bridge between product, technology, architecture, quality engineering, operations, and other delivery partners. This is not a high-level requirements role. The successful candidate must be comfortable working deep in the details, including source-to-target data mappings, message and file transformations, system-to-system interactions, interface contracts, validation rules, exception paths, and processing logic. The analyst will help a non-technical Product Owner convert business outcomes and priorities into technically precise requirements that engineering teams can design, build, and test. In addition to serving as a senior individual contributor, this role will lead and develop a team of Business Analysts supporting the squad. The Associate Director will be responsible for assigning work, establishing analysis standards, reviewing deliverables, coaching team members, and ensuring consistent quality across business analysis activities. The role combines hands-on technical analysis with people leadership and practice management responsibilities. You will play a central role in shaping and delivering CMI capabilities that support client-facing and internal workflows. You will work across the full delivery lifecycle, from early problem definition and solution analysis through implementation, testing, release readiness, and production support. The position offers the opportunity to influence how complex data and integration requirements are analyzed, documented, standardized, and delivered across the platform while building and leading a high-performing business analysis team.

Specific Responsibilities

• Partner closely with the CMI Product Owner to refine product priorities, assess technical implications, and translate business objectives into clear, actionable requirements.
• Lead detailed analysis of data flows, data transformation rules, source-to-target mappings, field-level specifications, message structures, and validation requirements.
• Document end-to-end system interactions, including upstream and downstream dependencies, interfaces, processing sequences, handoffs, exception scenarios, and operational impacts.
• Review existing application behavior, technical documentation, schemas, specifications, logs, and, where necessary, pseudo code or logic representations to understand current-state processing.
• Create high-quality epics, features, user stories, acceptance criteria, process flows, sequence diagrams, mapping documents, decision tables, and supporting functional specifications.
• Facilitate working sessions with product, engineering, architecture, data, quality engineering, operations, and control partners to resolve ambiguity and drive decisions.
• Identify requirement gaps, conflicting rules, edge cases, data quality concerns, and integration risks before development begins.
• Partner with engineers to ensure requirements are technically feasible and sufficiently detailed while preserving the intended business outcome.
• Support test strategy and execution by validating test coverage, expected results, transformation logic, interface behavior, and defect analysis.
• Maintain traceability from business objectives through requirements, design decisions, test evidence, and delivered functionality.
• Provide functional and technical analysis during implementation, release readiness, production validation, and issue triage.
• Help establish and improve business analysis standards, reusable templates, mapping conventions, and documentation practices for the squad.
• Mentor analysts and contribute to a culture of disciplined analysis, constructive challenge, and delivery ownership.
• Lead, coach, and develop a team of Business Analysts, providing guidance on analysis techniques, requirements quality, technical documentation, stakeholder management, and delivery practices.
• Assign and prioritize analysis activities across the team, balancing squad priorities, delivery timelines, analyst development opportunities, and resource capacity.
• Review analyst deliverables to ensure consistency, completeness, technical accuracy, and adherence to established standards and methodologies.
• Establish individual development plans, provide ongoing feedback and coaching, and support career growth within the business analysis discipline.
• Build and maintain analysis best practices, governance processes, reusable frameworks, and quality controls that improve delivery outcomes across the squad.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.

Talents Needed For Success

• Minimum of 8 years of relevant experience as a technology business analyst, systems analyst, software business analyst, or similar role supporting complex application delivery.
• Demonstrated ability to work at field and rule level on data transformation mappings, interface specifications, system integrations, and end-to-end processing flows.
• Strong understanding of system-to-system integration concepts, including APIs, messaging, files, events, batch processing, and synchronous and asynchronous interactions.
• Ability to interpret technical artifacts such as JSON, XML, schemas, message specifications, database structures, SQL queries, logs, sequence diagrams, and pseudo code.
• Experience writing detailed user stories, acceptance criteria, functional specifications, data mappings, process flows, and exception-handling requirements.
• Ability to explain complex technical concepts clearly to a non-technical Product Owner and other business stakeholders.
• Proven ability to challenge assumptions, identify gaps, resolve ambiguity, and drive issues to closure across multiple teams.
• Experience working in Agile delivery environments and partnering directly with engineering and quality engineering teams.
• Demonstrated experience leading, mentoring, or managing Business Analysts, including work assignment, coaching, performance development, and quality reviews.
• Proven ability to establish business analysis standards, improve analyst capability, and drive consistent delivery practices across a team.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with strong attention to detail and a delivery-oriented mindset.
• Experience in financial services, post-trade processing, market infrastructure, or other transaction-processing environments.
• Experience with client interfaces and common integration formats or protocols such as JSON, XML, FIX, SWIFT, APIs, messaging, and secure file transfer.
• Working knowledge of SQL, relational databases, data modeling, data lineage, and reconciliation techniques.
• Experience with integration modernization, platform transformation, or migration from legacy processing patterns.
• Familiarity with identity, authentication, authorization, permissions, and data access controls.
• Business Analysis, Agile, Product, or relevant technical certification.
