Job summary

Abbey Grange Academy in Leeds is recruiting a Business Administration Apprentice to provide comprehensive admin support across the school. Duties include reception, data entry, reports, mail merges and general office tasks, learning MS Office and school databases.

You will work toward a Level 3 Business Administration qualification with online/remote learning, over an expected 16 months. The role is term-time with a salary starting at £15,392/year, rising to the national minimum wage after 12

Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Staff main and student reception, acting as first point of contact for visitors, staff and students.
  • Answer school telephone and handle queries.
  • Direct callers to correct department promptly and politely.
  • Produce and collate reports, booklets, leaflets and marketing materials.
  • Carry out general office duties: mail merges, typing, filing, post handling.
  • Create and maintain student reports/letters and send detention/praise notices.
  • Maintain student records (manual and ICT).
  • Arrange transport for students and staff as required.
  • Receive payments for visits, trips and general sales; record and refund as needed.
  • Assist in other areas of school operations as workload allows.
  • Undertake training to perform tasks effectively.
  • Maintain confidentiality and secure handling of monies and property.
  • Demonstrate high standard of professional conduct and ethics.

Business Admin Level 3 Apprenticeship School Administrator – Abbey Grange Academy

We are currently seeking to recruit a hardworking and enthusiastic individual to join our administration team. The School Administrator Apprentice will be expected to give comprehensive administrative support to the admin team.

Key Details

Salary:£15392 per year increasing to National Minimum Wage after 12 months

Working hours: Monday, Tuesday Wednesday, & Friday 8am – 16pm & Thursday 8am – 15:30pm 37 hours (Term time only)

Location: Abbey Grange Academy, Butcher Hill, Leeds, West Yorkshire, LS16 5EA

Apprenticeship Details - 16 months expected duration to complete, working towards your Level 3 Business Administration (School Administrator) Qualification. (All learning is delivered online/ remote).

Training Provider: LMP Education (rated 1st best UK training provider)

We are seeking a motivated Business Administration Apprentice to join our friendly team. You will act as part of the Admin Team to undertake a wide range of administrative tasks, using Microsoft Word & Excel, ParentPay, Class Charts, email and other databases including Arbor and providing a comprehensive service to staff, students and governors. Your day-to-day duties will include:

  • Staffing the main and student reception and acting as one of the first points of contact for visitors, staff and students.
  • To answer the school telephone and deal with queries as required.
  • To deal with such contacts in the appropriate records and ensuring that callers are directed to the correct place in an efficient, effective and pleasant manner.
  • Producing and collating manual and computer-generated periodic reports, booklets, brochures, leaflets, marketing materials, etc.
  • Carrying out general office duties including but not limited to; whole school mail merges; typing/word processing; photocopying, collating, filing of records and paperwork; dealing with daily post (in and out).
  • Creating, maintaining and collating student reports/letters, including notification of detentions, praise letters, achievement records.
  • To maintain student records, both manual and ICT based.
  • To arrange transport for both students and staff as required.
  • Receiving and debt collecting payments for visits, trips and general sales from students and staff and recording these accordingly, refunding payments where necessary.
  • Being available to assist in other areas of school operations where workload allows/dictates. Any other duties commensurate with the post as requested by the headteacher.
  • Undertaking all the necessary training to carry out the above tasks effectively.
  • To carry out all tasks giving due regard to confidentiality of information and security of monies and property.
  • Demonstrate a high standard of personal and professional conduct and uphold public trust in the school by maintaining a high standard of ethics and behaviour both in and out of the workplace.
