Job summary

West Coast Motors (Glasgow) is seeking a Full Time Bus and Coach Mechanic based at our Glasgow Charles Street depot to maintain our fleet and ensure operations run to the highest standards.

You will perform maintenance, servicing and running repairs, including MOT preparation, and organise daily workload while complying with Operator Licence and safety standards. A driving licence is required; PCV licence is a plus, with 40 hours per week and a salary of £47,133.

Qualifications

• Energetic and self-motivated; able to work without supervision.
• At least two years’ experience repairing and maintaining public service or heavy goods vehicles (or equivalent).
• You must hold a valid driving licence; PCV licence helpful.

Responsibilities

• Vehicle maintenance, servicing and running repairs on a varied fleet (including MOT preparation).
• Prompt repair of all defective vehicles to the highest standard in a timely and cost-effective manner.
• Ensure vehicles are maintained in accordance with the Company's Operator Licence.
• The ability to organise daily workload, communicate effectively and work flexibly.
• The ability to work to the highest Health & Safety standards.

Main responsibilities include:

• Vehicle maintenance, servicing and running repairs on a varied fleet (including MOT preparation)
• Prompt repair of all defective vehicles to the highest standard in a timely and cost-effective manner
• Ensure vehicles are maintained in accordance with the Company's Operator Licence
• The ability to organise daily workload, communicate effectively and work flexibly

Requirements for the role:

• You will be energetic, self-motivated, able to work unsupervised and thrive within a challenging yet rewarding environment
• You will have at least an SVQ Level 3 in Bus and Coach Engineering and Maintenance qualification (or an equivalent international qualification). If you don't have a qualification, you should have at least two years' experience repairing and maintaining public service or heavy goods vehicles which you will need to evidence
• The role will either be 5 or 4 nights over 7
• A driving licence is required and PCV licence would be good to have, however we can help you get your licence
