Job summary

Evri Group is seeking a Bulk Driver for a permanent, full-time position in the Thames Valley area. You will operate a Volvo lorry in a mostly Mon–Fri, 9am–7pm pattern, with 45 hours per week. Expect practical duties, including loading/unloading at sites and routine vehicle checks.

Qualifications

• Class 1 driving licence is required.
• Completed required DCPC training hours or be working towards them.

Responsibilities

• Drive a lorry from Evri's fleet to customer sites.
• Plan routes and operate 9-hour shifts, typically 7/8am starts.
• Ensure cages, pallets and freight reach customers on time and safely.
• Load/unload at sites as required; scan consignments and use pallet trucks.
• Inspect vehicle and trailer daily and report any defects.

Position: Bulk Driver
Contract Type: Permanent – 45 hours
Location: Thames Valley
Shift: Mon‑Fri 9am – 7pm

What You’ll Do

You will drive a lorry from our exceptional fleet of Volvo vehicles, all less than 4 years old. They’re a joy to drive, and are equipped to a high specification, including fridges, leather seats and many more optional extras to make sure you’re comfortable.

Most of our sites run from Monday to Friday, with 45 hour working weeks, and 9‑hour shifts per day which typically start at 7/8am. Our well‑organised shift schedules mean you often know in advance where you’ll be driving, taking the stress out of your day.

Key Role Responsibilities

• We don’t micromanage our drivers. We trust them to get the job done and plan their own routes.
• The average number of stops in a shift is 4 to 6, so there’s plenty of time to enjoy being out on the open road – but you’ll still be home again at the end of every 9‑hour shift.
• You’ll make sure cages, pallets, freight, stillages and Yorks get to and from customers bang on time.
• At some sites, the goods will be loaded or unloaded for you – at others you’ll need to do it yourself. Scanning consignments and driving pallet trucks may be part of your day.
• You’ll be responsible for inspecting your vehicle and trailer every day and complete a defect report if necessary.
