Job summary

The Emerald Group is seeking an Analyst on a 12-month fixed-term contract to join the BPA business and support the Members Options team in Bristol. The role focuses on reviewing pension scheme data, calculating member options, and producing reports for trustees and internal stakeholders.

We require strong analytical skills, experience with Defined Benefit schemes, and a solid understanding of UK regulatory requirements.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Review pension scheme reports and data to prepare schedules and benefit specifications.
• Calculate member options (retirement, transfer, trivial commutation) using actuarial processes and modelling tools.
• Create quality reports to support downstream activities (administration updates, reinsurance accounting, premium changes).
• Demonstrate strong DB pension knowledge and compliance with UK pension regulations.
• Build relationships across organisational levels to ensure accurate data and trust.

They are recruiting on a 12-month contract for an Analyst to join their BPA business to support their Members Options team

Key Duties (Including but not limited to):

• Review of pension scheme reports/data to put together data schedules and benefit specifications between the Company and Scheme Trustees. To ensure data and benefit specifications are complete and accurate in all respects including legislative requirements.
• Using your understanding of technical knowledge to calculate member options include Retirement, Transfer and Trivial Commutation using actuarial processes, modelling systems, spreadsheets, and reporting tools.
• Create quality reports to ensure strong understanding of results, analysis and to allow the appropriate processing of downstream activities for example, administration updates, reinsurance accounting, premium changes, project plans and resource tracking.
• Strong technical skills and knowledge of Defined Benefit pension schemes and the legislative requirements of pension schemes
• Comprehensive understanding of the UK regulatory environment
• Able to build relationships and gain trust and respect at all levels
