Job summary

GCB Recruitment is seeking a Residential Building Surveyor to join an independent practice covering Reading and the surrounding Berkshire areas. The role offers consultancy-based work with flexible hours and a minimum commitment of one day per week.

You will perform Level 2 and Level 3 surveys, manage your own timetable, produce accurate survey reports, and maintain high professional standards across Berkshire and nearby areas.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in residential building surveying.
• AssocRICS or MRICS/FRICS status.
• Full UK driving licence.
• Strong report writing and client-facing skills.

Experienced in residential building surveying and looking for greater flexibility and earning potential?

We're recruiting for a Residential Building Surveyor to join an independent surveying practice, covering Reading and the surrounding Berkshire areas.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced surveyor looking to work on a consultancy basis, with the flexibility to manage your own workload and benefit from a generous fee split. With remote working and a minimum commitment of just one day per week, this role offers the opportunity to enjoy greater independence while continuing to deliver high-quality surveying services.

The Role

As a Residential Building Surveyor, you will:

• Carry out Level 2 and Level 3 residential building surveys
• Cover properties across Berkshire, Reading and the surrounding areas
• Manage your own workload, appointments and schedule
• Produce accurate, detailed and professional survey reports
• Deliver a high standard of service to clients throughout the surveying process
• Work independently while maintaining excellent professional standards
• Manage your time effectively to meet client expectations and deadlines

Residential Building Surveyor Requirements:

• Proven experience in residential building surveying
• Minimum AssocRICS qualification with at least two years' experience, or MRICS/FRICS status
• Full UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle
• Excellent organisational skills and the ability to manage your own workload
• Strong communication and report-writing skills
• Professional, client-focused approach with excellent attention to detail
