Job summary

Jones Lang LaSalle Incorporated in Birmingham is recruiting a Building Surveying Graduate on a 2–3 year trainee programme. You will work toward the APC to become a Chartered Building Surveyor, gaining on-site inspections and reporting experience across commercial settings.

You will receive structured Early Careers support, a buddy system, and dedicated training. The role includes a competitive salary, 25 days plus bank holidays, volunteer days, private medical care, pension and travel benefits.

Qualifications

  • Degree minimum 2:2 in Building Surveying accredited by RICS.
  • Interest in the property industry and how we can shape its future.
  • Travel across the Midlands will be required in this role.

Responsibilities

  • Visit sites to conduct Building Surveyor inspections.
  • Perform desktop survey research on sites.
  • Prepare inspection reports detailing the state of the property/site.
  • Act as Contract Administrator and Employer’s Agent on fit-out contracts.
  • Negotiate schedules of dilapidations and prepare exit strategies for required repair work.
  • Assist with preventative maintenance planning.
  • Coordinate portfolio instructions and undertake other duties as reasonably required.
  • Keep knowledge up to date with building and sustainability standards.
