Job summary

Cheshire East Council in Crewe is recruiting a Building Support Officer to join the Facilities Management team. The role is a full-time 37‑hour week from Monday to Friday, with Saturdays as overtime, and potential early or late opening shifts to fit operational needs.

You will support security, room management, events, and reception duties, liaise with contractors, and help maintain Health and Safety across main council buildings.

Job description

An exciting opportunity has become available to work within Facilities Management department as a Building Support Officer. The position is for 1 FTE (37 hours) per week over a Monday - Friday working pattern covering 07.00-19.00, with Saturdays as overtime, and possible early or late opening and closing depending on operational needs.

About you

As a Building Support Officer, you will assist the Building Support Supervisor for security, meeting room management, civic events, reception, ensuring Health and Safety standards are maintained at CEC main corporate buildings in Crewe, some IT knowledge will be desirable.

Liaise with contractors, ensuring buildings are open and closed in accordance with corporate policy, undertake porter duties, such as taking parcels to relevant departments/staff.
