Job summary

Siemens Energy in Newcastle Upon Tyne is looking for a Building Services Project Manager to support growth of our Substations and Grid Stability projects. You will coordinate the design, installation, and commissioning of building services, ensuring all work meets safety, quality, and budget requirements.

Your day will include collaborating with subcontractors and internal stakeholders, managing project timelines, and implementing innovative solutions to enhance project delivery.

Qualifications

• Experience in UK construction, process and/or industrial sectors with building services installation.
• HNC/HND or above in electrical or mechanical engineering or equivalent.
• Relevant qualifications such as City & Guilds 2382/2391/2396 and knowledge of CDM Regulations 2015.

Responsibilities

• Execute project work packages within safety, quality, time, functionality and cost constraints.
• Coordinate designs, specs and subcontractor installations for systems (hot/cold water, lighting, electrical distribution, HVAC, telecoms, security, fire detection).
• Manage procurement and oversight of subcontractors from design through delivery and handover.
• Identify, monitor and mitigate risks and opportunities throughout the project lifecycle.
• Fulfil the role of Contract Administrator, ensuring NEC3/4, FIDIC or bespoke contracts compliance.
• Chair technical and progress meetings with subcontractors and internal stakeholders.

How You’ll Make an Impact

• Execute project work packages within defined requirements, including safety, quality, time, functionality, and cost.
• Coordinate designs, specifications, and subcontractor installations for systems such as hot and cold-water, lighting, electrical distribution, HVAC, telecommunications, security, and fire detection.
• Manage the procurement and oversight of subcontractors from design through delivery and handover.
• Identify, monitor, and mitigate risks and opportunities throughout the project lifecycle.
• Fulfil the role of Contract Administrator, ensuring compliance with NEC3/4, FIDIC, or bespoke contracts.
• Chair technical and progress meetings with subcontractors and internal stakeholders to ensure alignment and progress.

What You Bring

• Experience within the UK Construction, Process, and/or Industrial sectors, with a strong understanding of building services installation.
• An HNC/HND or above in electrical or mechanical engineering, or equivalent qualifications (e.g., NVQ4 in building services).
• Relevant qualifications such as City & Guilds 2382, 2391, and 2396, along with knowledge of The Construction (Design and Management) Regulations 2015.
• Familiarity with BSRIA BG 6 and a valid construction site safety passport (CCNSG, CSCS, etc.) is advantageous.
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to convey complex technical and commercial issues effectively.
• A proactive attitude and a willingness to work flexibly, both in the office and on-site.
