Job summary

Siemens Energy is seeking an Environmental Advisor in Manchester to support the Head of Environment in developing and maintaining the Environmental Management System across projects. You will provide expert environmental guidance to Site Managers and Delivery teams.

Collaborating with stakeholders, you will help ensure compliance with legislation and promote sustainable practices on site, contributing to decarbonisation goals in a dynamic energy projects context.

Qualifications

• A degree in a relevant discipline with knowledge of environmental legislation
• Excellent written and verbal communication
• Proficiency in MS Office, especially Excel and PowerPoint
• Graduate ISEP Membership or willingness to achieve
• Experience in construction and environmental management systems
• Valid driving licence

A Snapshot of Your Day

As an Environmental Advisor at Siemens Energy, you will support the Head of Environment in developing, implementing, and maintaining the Siemens Environmental Management System (EMS) within the Project Entity. Your role will involve providing expert environmental advice to Site Managers and Project Delivery teams, acting as a key point of contact for site environmental issues. You will collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure compliance with environmental legislation and promote sustainability initiatives across projects.

How You’ll Make an Impact

• Assist the Head of Environment in the continuous improvement of the environmental and energy management system, ensuring delivery of objectives and targets.
• Monitor changes to UK and European environmental legislation, updating business processes and procedures accordingly.
• Ensure all employees understand their statutory duties and the requirements of company environmental procedures.
• Identify and manage environmental consents, ensuring compliance with the Project Environmental Management Plan.
• Conduct environmental audits and inspections to monitor compliance and encourage resource efficiency.
• Support incident investigations and ensure corrective actions are implemented effectively.

What You Bring

• A degree in a relevant discipline, with a strong understanding of environmental legislation and sustainability protocols.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage stakeholders at all levels.
• Strong attention to detail and organisational skills, with proficiency in MS Office applications, particularly Excel and PowerPoint.
• Graduate ISEP Membership or above (or willingness to achieve).
• Experience in the construction industry and working with environmental management systems is desirable.
• A valid driving license.
