Job summary

A leading provider of building services solutions is seeking a Building Services Engineer to maintain HVAC systems and ensure compliance with safety standards. The role involves substantial work in airports and offers competitive compensation of £42,000 – £45,000. The ideal candidate has experience in facilities management and knowledge of HVAC and plumbing systems. Training will be provided where needed.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Maintain all HVAC plant including AC, FCUs, and VAVs.
• Safely install, maintain, and repair plant and equipment.
• Carry out diagnostic and fault finding.

Overview

Position – Building Services Engineer

Location – Northampton

Salary/Package – £42,000 – £45,000, Slight rotating shift pattern. Van/Fuel card, call out 1-4 / £150, OT paid at 1.5 or x2, 20 days Hol + Banks & more.

Client

My client is a leading provider of integrated building services solutions, specialising in sustainable, energy-efficient systems across commercial, industrial, and public sector environments. Delivering high-quality mechanical and electrical maintenance, design, and installation services with a focus on environmental responsibility and technical excellence.

* 95% of the time, you will be working in Airports*

It would be an advantage if you already have the Airport passes.

Responsibilities

Maintenance on all HVAC plant including:

• AC, FCUs, VAVs
• To safely and efficiently install, maintain and repair plant and equipment
• To carry out diagnostic and fault finding
• To carry out routine servicing and commissioning to plant
• Maintain plant, PPM, personal and vehicle records
• Emergency light testing
• PAT testing
• Building fabric experience
• To identify areas for additional works within and out of the specified contractual requirements
• To understand and complete all work-related documentation accurately and on time

You must have or hold

• Ideally, hold an AC Bias
• Proven experience in a building services or facilities management environment.
• Knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical systems, and control systems.
• Strong understanding of current building regulations, energy standards, and sustainability best practices.
• MUST pass an Enhanced DBS

Progression through the company is possible, with in-depth experience of the role being an advantage, but not essential as full training will be provided where required.
