Can you bring building safety to life in our communities?

Are you someone who thrives on making a difference, especially when it comes to keeping people safe in their homes? If you know your way around the Building Safety Act, HHSRS and compliance frameworks, and you’re ready to be the voice of reassurance in our high-rise buildings we want to hear from you.

We’re not your typical housing provider and this isn’t your typical job. At PA Housing, we’re all about people, not just properties. We’re committed to doing things better, and that includes how we manage safety in our buildings.

What’s in it for you?

In addition to a competitive salary, we offer a great benefits package designed to support your wellbeing and work-life balance:

  • Health cash plans
  • 26 days’ annual leave, increasing to 29 after three years, with the opportunity to buy more
  • Flexible bank holidays take them when it suits you
  • Car leasing scheme
  • Hybrid working typically 2-3 days per week in the office (flexible depending on meetings and activity)
  • Optional nine-day fortnight compress your hours and enjoy an extra day off every other week

What you’ll be doing

You’ll be the dedicated Building Safety Manager (BSM) for a portfolio of our higher-risk buildings (over 18m or 7+ storeys). You’ll be at the heart of our mission to keep people safe, acting as the go-to expert for building safety and a key point of contact for our residents.

Here’s a quick snapshot of what your role will include:

  • Managing the safety of assigned buildings, ensuring a joined-up approach to protect everyone using them
  • Leading on building safety compliance and overseeing safety case implementation
  • Coordinating planned preventative maintenance and responsive repairs at high-risk buildings
  • Acting as the primary contact for resident engagement listening, responding, and building trust
  • Monitoring and managing any mandatory occurrence reporting
  • Working collaboratively with internal teams and external partners to keep our buildings safe
  • Keeping up with regulations and translating them into meaningful actions
  • Championing a proactive, safety-first culture across the organisation

What we’re looking for

Let’s keep this simple you’re someone who knows your stuff when it comes to building safety. But more than that, you care. You want to do right by residents and make a difference where it really counts.

We’re looking for someone who has:

  • Strong knowledge of ACOPs, fire safety, and compliance across the “Big 6” (fire, gas, electric, water, asbestos, lifts)
  • Experience managing safety and compliance in residential or high-rise settings
  • A recognised qualification in fire safety, health and safety, or construction such as NEBOSH or equivalent
  • The ability to engage residents with clarity, empathy and professionalism
  • A track record in managing risk reporting and acting on key findings
  • An understanding of mandatory occurrence reporting processes
  • A proactive, accountable, and solution-focused approach to your work

You must also have:

  • A full UK driving licence
  • The ability to pass a DBS check (more info below)

If this sounds like you and you’re ready to help us shape safer homes we’d love to hear from you.

Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS):

This role requires the successful candidate to complete a basic DBS check, which will show any unspent convictions. That’s because you’ll be visiting residents in their homes, and we have a responsibility to make sure we’re doing that safely and appropriately.

Please don’t worry having unspent convictions doesn’t automatically rule you out. If you’re a potential match, we’ll carry out a risk assessment with you to understand the context. We’ll also request references before your start date.

AGENCIES: We know where you are if we need your support so please do not contact us.
