Job description

Location: HMP Deerbolt, Barnard Castle, DL12 9BG

Salary: GBP 24,242 - GBP 30,790 per annum

Waythrough launched in October 2024 following the merger of Humankind and Richmond Fellowship. Our vision is to break down the barriers that stop people from getting the support they need to live a life they value. We address poverty and disadvantage in communities through mental health, drug and alcohol, housing, and related support services.

We have nearly 200 services across England, supported by almost 3,500 staff and volunteers. Annually, our services support around 125,000 people.

Integrating two large organizations is complex and ongoing. Currently, our jobs are still branded Humankind, and our recruitment systems are separate, but full integration is planned for next year.

The Role

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Building Recovery Coordinator (HMYOI Deerbolt being the community) to support Waythrough’s service delivery within Reconnected to Health at HMYOI Deerbolt. As a Building Recovery Coordinator, you will provide 1:1 support for service users who have completed most of their recovery journey with a Recovery Coordinator and are now in sustained recovery. You will adopt a holistic approach to ensure each service user's care plan covers all aspects of their wellbeing, aiming for the best possible outcomes.

You will also recruit, train, and supervise peer mentors who support the service through group activities, mutual aid, focus groups, and projects.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Manage a service user caseload, developing, implementing, and reviewing recovery plans and treatments, working closely with the wider team including family and significant others as appropriate.
  2. Conduct focus groups and promote equality, diversity, and inclusion through projects and service promotion.
  3. Recruit, train, and supervise peer mentors, integrating lived experience into service delivery.
  4. Collaborate with partner agencies for shared assessments, key working, and interventions to support service user progression from engagement through structured treatment to self-sustained recovery.
  5. Facilitate access to treatment and community resources to enhance recovery and social capital, supporting service users and their families within their local communities.
  6. Lead case management for service users, including ongoing risk assessments, risk management, safeguarding, and effective use of online case management systems.
About You

The successful candidate will share our commitment to providing high-quality services and performance standards.

Benefits
  • Generous annual leave (27 days plus bank holidays, increasing to 32 after 1 year)
  • Annual leave purchase scheme
  • Enhanced sick pay and employer pension contributions
  • Death in service benefit
  • Free Will writing
  • Eyecare vouchers
  • Blue light card discounts
  • Training and development opportunities, including free courses
  • Flexible working and family-friendly policies
  • Wellbeing programs and support networks
