Job summary

CBRE Global Workplace Solutions is seeking a skilled Fabric Technician to join our Oxford team. You will deliver high-quality maintenance and repair services across client facilities, ensuring compliance with safety regulations and industry standards.

You will handle reactive and planned works, manage surveys, reports and risk assessments, and collaborate closely with clients to provide excellent service. A valid UK driving license and strong IT skills are required.

Qualifications

  • Experience in fabric, carpentry or a related trade.
  • Painting and decorating experience.
  • Experience with fire doors.
  • City & Guilds or NVQ equivalent in carpentry.

Responsibilities

  • Respond to reactive works and complete tasks within agreed timescales.
  • Liaise with clients' representatives for excellent service and clear communication.
  • Conduct site surveys and produce reports, method statements and risk assessments.
  • Repair and replace floor/wall coverings, ceiling tiles and related works.
  • Maintain lighting, perform lamp changes, filters and basic plumbing tasks.
  • Use PDA system to complete works, communications and updates.
  • Complete reactive, PPM jobs and projects on time.
  • Undertake minor project works ensuring safety and compliance with Health & Safety regulations.

Fabric Technician Location: Oxford, England, United Kingdom Job type: Full-time Company: CBRE Global Workplace Solutions - a leading global provider of integrated facilities and corporate real estate management. About the role: We're seeking a skilled and experienced maintenance technician to join our team in Oxford. As a Fabric Technician, you'll play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our clients' facilities and deliver high-quality maintenance and repair services that exceed expectations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Respond to reactive works and ensure maintenance tasks are completed within agreed timescales.
  • Liaise with clients' representatives to deliver exceptional customer service and ensure seamless communication.
  • Conduct site surveys and produce detailed reports, method statements, and risk assessments for planned works.
  • Repair and replace floor and wall coverings, ceiling tiles, and other building and installation works as required.
  • Maintain lighting, perform general lamp changes, filter changes, and basic plumbing requirements.
  • Utilize our cutting-edge PDA system to complete works, key communications, and updates.
  • Complete reactive, PPM jobs, and projects in a timely manner.
  • Undertake minor project works and ensure all work is carried out safely and in accordance with Health and Safety at Work Regulations.
What we're looking for
  • Previous experience in fabric, carpentry, or a related trade.
  • Painting and decorating experience.
  • Experience with fire doors.
  • Proven track record of working in high-profile work environments.
  • City & Guilds or NVQ equivalent in carpentry.
  • Current UKL driver's license.
  • Excellent PC skills and ability to learn new systems quickly.
  • Strong customer-relationship skills and ability to communicate effectively with clients and colleagues.
  • Ability to interpret technical drawings, instructions, and processes.
  • Self-motivated and organized, with strong attention to detail.
  • Experience of H&S procedures and requirements, including COSHH, Working at Heights, and Risk Assessment.
