Job summary

CBRE Global Workplace Solutions in Liverpool is seeking a skilled Fabric Technician to join our team. You will perform maintenance and repair tasks to support clients' facilities, ensuring high-quality service and safe operations.

You will respond to reactive works, conduct site surveys, manage repairs to floors, ceilings, lighting and plumbing, and use our PDA system to update works and communicate with clients.

Qualifications

  • Previous experience in fabric, carpentry, or a related trade.
  • Painting and decorating experience.
  • Experience with fire doors.
  • Proven track record in high-profile environments.
  • City & Guilds or NVQ in carpentry (or equivalent).

Responsibilities

  • Respond to reactive works and ensure tasks are completed within agreed timescales.
  • Liaise with clients' representatives to deliver excellent service and communication.
  • Conduct site surveys and produce reports, method statements, and risk assessments.
  • Repair and replace floor/wall coverings, ceilings, and other installations.
  • Maintain lighting, lamp changes, filters, and basic plumbing.
  • Utilise PDA system to complete works, communicate updates.
  • Complete reactive, PPM, and project works on time.
  • Undertake minor projects safely per Health and Safety regulations.

About the Role:

We're seeking a skilled and experienced Fabric Technician to join our team in Birmingham. As a Fabric Technician, you'll play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our clients' facilities, delivering high-quality maintenance and repair services that exceed their expectations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Respond to reactive works and ensure maintenance tasks are completed within agreed timescales
  • Liaise with clients' representatives to deliver exceptional customer service and ensure seamless communication
  • Conduct site surveys and produce detailed reports, method statements, and risk assessments for planned works
  • Repair and replace floor and wall coverings, ceiling tiles, and other building and installation works as required
  • Maintain lighting, general lamp changes, filter changes, and basic plumbing requirements
  • Utilize our cutting-edge PDA system to complete works, key communications, and updates
  • Complete reactive, PPM jobs, and projects in a timely manner
  • Undertake minor projects works and ensure all works are carried out safely and in accordance with Health and Safety at Work Regulations
What We're Looking For:
  • Previous experience in fabric, carpentry, or a related trade
  • Painting and decorating experience
  • Experience with fire doors
  • Proven track record of working in high-profile work environments
  • City & Guilds or NVQ equivalent in carpentry
  • Current UKL driver's license
  • Excellent PC skills and ability to learn new systems quickly
  • Strong customer relationship skills and ability to communicate effectively with clients and colleagues
  • Ability to interpret technical drawings, instructions, and processes
  • Self-motivated and organized, with a strong attention to detail
  • Experience of H&S procedures and requirements, including COSHH, Working at Heights, and Risk Assessment
