Job summary

The University of Warwick is seeking a Building Fabric Officer to lead internal trade staff and contractor support, guiding a skilled team to maintain building fabric and public realm in line with service level agreements.

You will manage maintenance projects using university processes, collaborate with estates colleagues, and provide hands-on training to staff to ensure safe, reliable facilities for students and staff.

About the Role

As the Building Fabric Officer, you will play a pivotal role in the organisation and management of internal trade staff and contractor support. You will be guiding a team of skilled craftsmen, helping to provide an exceptional level of service to the university’s stakeholders and students. You will assist in the management of the Building Fabric Services section with regard to maintenance of building fabric and public realm. To ensure that all statutory maintenance requirements are completed and documented, and that planned and reactive maintenance is delivered in accordance with the University service level agreements. About You

The ideal candidate will be a dynamic team player with excellent communication skills and be able to organise and manage multiple projects. You will have experience of working with a multidisciplined workforce and have a proven track record of working within the building/estates industry, preferable in a university environment. The candidate will be a time served carpenter or similar skilled role, able to provide direct guidance and hands on training to staff where necessary.
