Job summary

Our client, a Canterbury owned and operated specialist kerb and channel contractor, seeks a Concrete Kerb and Channel Foreperson. This hands-on role requires physical fitness and the ability to lead a small team to achieve project outcomes.

Key duties include setting up and operating kerb machinery, supervising schedules with a strong focus on health & safety, finishing concrete surfaces with floats, driving a Class 2 truck when required, and maintaining tools to ensure safety and efficiency.

Qualifications

• Prior experience in staff management.
• Valid NZ Full Class 2 Driving License.
• Site Safe qualification required.
• Eligibility: NZ citizen or permanent resident.
• Hands-on kerb and channel experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Set up, maintain and operate kerb machinery.
• Supervise a small team; coordinate schedules with health & safety at the forefront.
• Level and shape concrete accurately.
• Finish surfaces using floats/trowels.
• Mix slurry and prepare services as needed.
• Maintain tools and machinery for safety and efficiency.
• Drive Class 2 truck to move machinery and materials.
• Perform general duties as required.

Our client who is Canterbury owned and operated is a specialist kerb and channel contractor with over 30 years of experience in the industry providing quality product, efficiently and safely. At present, we are looking for a ConcreteKerb and Channel Foreperson being a hands-on-role requiring physical fitness and a commitment to manage a small team taking ownership of project outcomes. Your main responsibilities will include:

• To set up, maintain and operate kerb machinery independently
• Manage/supervise a team, coordinate schedules and keep Health & Safety at the forefront
• Levelling and shaping concrete accurately
• Use of plastic and stainless floats/trowels for various finishers
• Mixing slurry and preparing services
• General maintenance of tools/machinery to ensure safety and efficiency
• Driving Class 2 truck to move machinery and materials
• General duties as required

The successful candidate must have a valid NZ Full Class 2 Driving Class License with a current Site Safe qualification. Prior experience is required including staff management. The position is open to all NZ Citizens and Permanent Residents.
