Job summary

John Jones Steel is seeking a Fleet Maintenance Technician to support our fleet of equipment and vehicles in New Zealand. The role involves servicing a wide range of machinery, fault diagnosis, and performing maintenance to keep operations running smoothly.

Responsibilities include pre COF/WOF inspections, arranging testing station visits for compliance, and supervising apprentices when required. Applicants should be able to work unsupervised and in a team, with readiness for out-of-town work as

Qualifications

• Experience in servicing and repairing a wide range of equipment (light/heavy).
• Strong fault finding and diagnostic skills.
• Ability to respond to site breakdowns and perform maintenance as required.
• Experience with pre COF/WOF inspections.
• Ability to take vehicles to testing stations for compliance.
• Capable of supervising apprentices when needed.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and service fleet equipment and vehicles.
• Diagnose faults and implement repairs.
• Respond to and manage site breakdowns and scheduled maintenance.
• Coordinate COF/WOF inspections and testing processes.
• Assist with out-of-town work when required and mentor apprentices.

Due to an ever increasing workload we are now looking for another Fleet Maintenance Technician to assist with our fleet of equipment/vehicles and plant

What we are looking for is someone with experience in:

• Service and repair of a wide range of equipment (light / Heavy)
• Fault finding and diagnosis
• Site breakdowns and maintenance work as required
• Pre COF / WOF inspections
• Taking vehicles to testing station for compliance inspection
• Overseeing apprentices (when required)

Ideally you will have the following:

• Hydraulic experience
• Full clean drivers licence (NZ) up to class 5
• W endorsement preferred but not essential
• Ability to work unsupervised and in a team environment
• The ability to attend to work out of town when required (South Island)
• Exceptional health and safety practices and lifting methodologies
• Current Site Safe certificate (advantage but not essential)
