Job summary

Jora New Zealand is seeking an Asphalt Labourer with a WTR endorsement to join their team for busy seasonal work on paving and surfacing projects across residential and commercial sites in New Zealand.

The role involves assisting with asphalt and surfacing operations, shovelling, raking, and preparing sites, with the possibility to operate small plant and WTR machinery where licensed. A current NZ Class 1 licence is required; Class 2 is advantageous.

Qualifications

• Experience in asphalt paving and surfacing operations.
• Endorsement WTR required.
• Full NZ Class 1 Driver Licence; Class 2 licence advantageous.
• Physically capable of demanding manual work.
• Flexible to early starts and occasional overtime.
• Reliable, punctual and motivated with a strong work ethic.
• Good communication and team collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Assist with asphalt paving and surfacing operations
• Shovel, rake, and level asphalt
• Prepare work sites prior to paving
• Operate small plant and equipment where licensed
• Operate rollers and other WTR machinery as required
• Assist with traffic management setup when needed
• Load and unload materials, tools, and equipment

Skills & Experience

• Previous asphalt, roading, or civil construction experience preferred


• Current Wheels, Tracks and Rollers (WTR) endorsement


• Full New Zealand Class 1 Driver Licence


• Class 2 Licence advantageous


• Physically fit and capable of undertaking demanding manual work


• Reliable, punctual, and motivated with a strong work ethic
